• Employees will have a choice between off-site parking and shuttle service OR 'Attendant Directed Parking' at the COC. There will be no charge for either service.
• Construction delivery and exit route: Overland Avenue only, which will be closed to employees and visitors.
• The San Diego County Credit Union will remain open during construction. Parking is available next to the Credit Union, with access from Farnham Way.

Attendant Directed Parking:
Attendant Directed Parking involves parking cars in a way that may block other vehicles. As a result, vehicle keys are left with the lot attendant so they can move vehicles that are blocking other vehicles.

Overflow Parking and Shuttle Service:

• Parking Shuttles will run throughout the day from 6:00 am to 6:00 pm.
• Shuttles will pick up from each of the pick-up locations approximately every 10 minutes.
• The Shuttle Lot is on the South side of Lightwave Avenue, behind National University: 9393 LIGHTWAVE AVENUE - SOUTHWEST CORNER OF RUFFIN ROAD & LIGHTWAVE AVENUE.

Overflow Parking at National University. 9393 Lightwave Ave (@ Ruffin Road). National University has allocated parking for County staff and visitors on the west side of their lot. (shown in green above). Please follow posted signs.

Parking Management Team:
Al Catino, onsite Parking Manager from Five Star Parking will oversee parking services on behalf of the County. The project is being developed by Lowe Enterprises. This development team reports to the Department of General Services, assisted by Project Management Advisors, Inc.

Construction of Phase 1A Buildings is in Progress.
The County Operations Center Project began major construction operations for the first two office buildings in March 2009. The new construction will provide approximately 300,000 square feet of office space, built to LEED Silver Certification standards. This phase of construction, "Phase 1A", will include a new planning and permitting center, several Department Offices, and a Parking Structure. The Parking Structure construction began in December 2009.

Off-Site Conference Facilities:

County departments that schedule large meetings at the COC may want to consider using of off-site facilities during the construction activities ongoing at the COC campus.

National University on Lightwave Avenue makes conference rooms available on a half day and daily basis for large conferences that may need to be held for various functions. There is a charge for the use of these facilities generally one to one and a half week advance notice needs to be given to the Real Estate Services Division staff to arrange for a license to be issued by National University for use of these rooms.
